About Us

Kenway Consulting, a management and technology consulting company, was founded in June of 2004 on the principles of being good and being truthful.

In doing so, we strive to provide unmatched quality and client service. One common theme discussed with our clients is the persistent complementary need for strong leadership and execution in project settings. Since projects tend to be finite in duration, many companies fall short in addressing the short-term capacity requirements to deliver on the needs of the business on-time and with quality. Companies tend to keep their leadership and management focused on the long-term vision of their business. As well they should. By complementing our clients’ established leadership, Kenway Consulting provides deep industry and technology expertise to allow our clients to focus on their own business.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide the highest possible quality for the lowest possible cost.

Our projects tend to focus primarily on enterprise solutions, straddling our clients’ technology and business organizations. Most of these engagements require a diverse combination of skills and experience. At Kenway, we address these needs by identifying the capabilities and services required to solve our client’s business challenges. We then provide the right skills at the right time at the right volume for the right duration to build the optimal project capacity for each engagement. This approach not only allows us to take on projects ranging in size and complexity, but it also allows us to adjust capacity and skill sets as the project evolves, or as client needs change. Ultimately, our goal is to provide the highest possible quality for the lowest possible cost.

Our model provides you “big consulting” acumen at anything but “big consulting” rates.

Our people come from strong consulting backgrounds, blending industry standard methodologies with deep experience in the development and management of enterprise solutions. Our model provides you “big consulting” acumen at anything but “big consulting” rates. Our backgrounds span a host of industries, technology domains, and internal business functions which will likely make us a great fit in fulfilling your project needs.

FEATURED ON CEO INTRONET

Watch Brian discuss Kenway Consulting during his interview with CEO Intronet.

Vision

To foster a premier consulting organization based on integrity, quality, effort and the consideration of every individual with whom we engage.

Mission

To focus on the success of the means and not the end, always in line with our Guiding Principles and always with integrity as our cornerstone.

Employee Spotlight

As a service organization without a product to sell, our people are our past, present and future. Recruiting and retaining the best talent must be balanced with providing value at fair pricing for our clients. Kenway Consulting has struck that balance with a lean operating model that puts emphasis on leveraging our greatest asset, our people.

Our employees are not simply client-facing. Additionally, they engage in the operations of Kenway Consulting, gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of running a business. It is often this exposure, which helps contain costs, that ultimately differentiates us from our competitors. Our employees know the cost of “operating” a company, a business process and a technical solution. This exposure adds a deliberate and thoughtful approach for our clients, one that is not solely focused on the implementation at hand, but also has an eye towards the total cost of ownership, which all clients must endure.

Brian King

PRESIDENT & CEO

In 2004, nine years after beginning his career with Accenture, Brian founded Kenway Consulting with the goal of starting the company for whom he always wanted to work.  Brian set out to build a company that operates under the general philosophy that you must always do, under all circumstances, what is right.  This philosophy seems simple enough, but when clients are asking you to do something that is not actually in their own best interests, saying “no” to clients and potential clients is what’s right, and that philosophy has been a major differentiator for Kenway ever since its inception.

During Kenway’s early years, Brian successfully managed and led critical enterprise initiatives from the implementations of Enterprise HR solutions, Client Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, Portal Technologies and Case Management Systems to the deployment of enterprise wide Data Governance, Business Intelligence and Master Data Management initiatives.  These implementations spanned technologies and industries, from the package to the custom, Telecommunications to Financial Services.

Once Kenway grew to a size warranting full-time executive leadership, Brian turned his energies to “running the business”.  In his “spare time”, Brian spends a great deal of energy growing his expertise in the field of Data Management.  In doing so, Brian has had the opportunity to work with some of Chicago’s most successful companies to implement data strategies, governance structures and tools that position them to leverage their information as an asset, adding revenues to bottom lines and reducing long-term operating costs.  His continued work in data management along with many other Kenway experts in the industry, ensures that Kenway Consulting will be a leader in the field for years to come.

As Kenway has continued to evolve, the basic principles that were integral to the early success of the company remain the same: focus on the overall betterment of employees and clients alike through mutual respect, candor and diplomacy.  Embodying these attributes as Kenway’s CEO and as a Kenway spokesperson to our clients, Brian is proud to still run the company for whom he always wanted to work.
