CHICAGO, Monday, September 18, 2017 – Kenway Consulting announced today that as a result of fundraising efforts conducted during its 2017 Charity Golf Outing, it raised $35,000 for ALIVE Rescue, a Chicago-based animal rescue that saves, rehabilitates and places abandoned, abused and stray animals.
“It costs an average of $600 for us to care for each animal we shelter,” said Kristen Gerali, ALIVE Rescue’s founder and president. “And as a result of this extremely generous donation, we’ll be able to help nearly 60 abandoned, abused and stray animals find new homes and lead better lives.”
Kenway’s 8th annual event was held on Saturday, September 9 at Naperville’s Tamarack Golf Club. In addition to the day’s signature scramble, festivities included breakfast; lunch; a live raffle with $12,500 in cash prizes and merchandise ranging from hotel stays and sporting event tickets, to restaurant and spa gift certificates; and a back-by-popular-demand Puppy Kissing Booth, featuring some of ALIVE Rescue’s adoptable pups.
“Kenway’s Why is ‘To Help and Be Helped,’ and we’re grateful to ALIVE Rescue for allowing us to help such a wonderful organization for the second year in a row,” said Brian King, Kenway president and CEO. “I want to thank Kristen Gerali and all the ALIVE Rescue volunteers for their continued partnership and active participation, as well as Christina Formentini, Mark Burns and all the other Kenway volunteers who made the day run so smoothly. We’re looking forward to another successful golf event next year.”
ALIVE Rescue believes every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life, and provides medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health and/or breed. The organization promotes sustainable living and care-giving within communities by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment. Last year, Kenway’s Charity Golf Outing raised $30,000 for the Chicago-based non-profit.
