Swingin in the Rain

It’s hard to believe that another year has passed and the Second Annual Kenway Consulting Charity Golf Outing is almost a distant memory. But it’s a great memory, filled with satisfaction for another successful year raising funds for a charity that I have personally been involved with as far back as volunteering to serve meals at Inspiration Café when they were located on Wilson Avenue! And I take pride in watching how Kenway Consulting’s relationship with Inspiration Corporation has grown over the past twelve+ months – from the larger efforts like organizing and hosting the golf outing as well as the volunteer efforts at Inspiration Café and One Inspired Evening.

This year we hosted over 120 golfers (and non-golfers!) for a day of golf and giving. The day started out with a splash – literally – with a constant drizzle that threatened the mood of the day, but everyone appeared to be in good spirits and were rewarded with some sunshine after a soggy 12:00 shotgun start. And it was great to catch up with some old friends that I haven’t seen for a while.

Evan Cauble-Johnson and Mindy Neveaux kicked-off dinner with an overview of all of the great programs run by Inspiration Corporation. Then things got lively as the energy level rose during the live raffle and the awards for the contest hole winners and winning foursome. The raffle table was almost overflowing with great items including our big ticket item, a week- long stay in Seabrook Island, South Carolina.

We are grateful for the participation and contributions of all those supporting us – the individuals involved in the planning and preparations, the golfers, volunteers, those making monetary donations and the individuals and businesses contributing to our giveaway bags and raffle. And a special thank you to Denise Kotva for donating – for the second year – the condo on Seabrook Island. This combined generosity resulted in a donation to Inspiration Corporation for $11,500 – beating last year’s amount by $1000.

I am also personally grateful to be part of an organization that shares my own enthusiasm for giving back and fostering relationships with the community in which we live, work and play. It’s a huge testament to how Kenway Consulting operates – both on and off the course!

I am looking forward to the Third Annual Kenway Consulting Charity Golf Outing and continuing to grow our relationship with Inspiration Corporation.
